Ancelotti Confirms Neymar Will Return for Brazil’s Final World Cup Group Match Against Scotland
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Neymar will be included in Brazil’s squad for their final group-stage match against Scotland national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Brazil forward has been recovering from a calf injury suffered before the tournament began, forcing him to miss the team’s opening two matches against Morocco national football team and Haiti national football team.
Brazil opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Morocco before bouncing back with a convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti.
Speaking after the win over Haiti, Ancelotti revealed that Neymar is making progress and is expected to return to training with the team before the Scotland clash.
“Neymar will train individually tomorrow, then Sunday back training with the team and then called up against Scotland,” Ancelotti said, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Neymar’s return will be welcomed by Brazilian supporters, with the forward remaining the country’s all-time leading goalscorer with 79 international goals.
Although injuries have limited his recent appearances, Neymar’s creativity, experience and ability to produce decisive moments make him a key figure for Brazil as they aim to go deep into the tournament.
His availability for the Scotland match could provide Brazil with another major attacking option as they look to secure a strong finish in the group stage.
