Seyi Law Hails Deeone’s 52-Hour Comedy Marathon: “A Vision Fueled by Passion and Grit”
Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has showered praises on fellow comic and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Martin, popularly known as Deeone, after he completed an astonishing 52-hour stand-up comedy performance in Lagos.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Seyi Law celebrated the remarkable milestone, describing it as “a vision fueled by passion and years of planning.”
“What started as a joke to many was, in truth, a vision fueled by passion and years of planning. From 2021, the journey was long, demanding, and relentless, but today, it has become a reality,” Seyi Law wrote.
“A record-breaking 52 hours of performance is no small feat. It’s monumental.”
While official confirmation from Guinness World Records is still pending, Seyi Law praised Deeone’s resilience and focus, noting that his dedication should inspire other young Nigerians to believe in their dreams.
“While we await the official confirmation, I want to take a moment to celebrate your unwavering dedication, resilience, and sheer willpower it took to get here.
You’ve done what most wouldn’t dare to attempt.”
Deeone, in a follow-up video shared on Saturday morning, revealed that his initial target was 60 hours, but he ended up completing 52 hours and a few minutes, citing exhaustion.
The comedian had earlier announced his ambitious plan to break the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy performance. His announcement, accompanied by a humorous burial-style poster, drew wide attention and laughter across social media.
Opinion: Deeone’s Record-Breaking Feat Is More Than Just Laughter — It’s Legacy
While comedy often thrives on humor and improvisation, Deeone’s achievement reminds us that passion, discipline, and perseverance can elevate even entertainment into history.
It’s easy to laugh at comedians, but it takes unbelievable strength to stand before an audience — for over two days — and keep them engaged. This feat blurs the line between performance and endurance sport.
In a country where creatives often struggle for recognition, Deeone’s marathon isn’t just about cracking jokes; it’s about cracking limits. His success shows that with focus and grit, Nigerian entertainers can stand tall — not just on stage, but on the world map.
And while the world awaits Guinness’ final confirmation, one thing is already certain: Deeone has earned his place in Nigerian comedy history.
