Gallas Backs Arsenal for Premier League Title, Tips Aston Villa for Top-Four Finish

Gallas Backs Arsenal for Premier League Title, Tips Aston Villa for Top-Four Finish

Former France international and ex-Arsenal defender William Gallas has thrown his weight behind the Gunners, tipping Arsenal to win the Premier League title this season.

Gallas also named Manchester City, Chelsea, and Aston Villa as the other teams he expects to finish inside the top four, predicting a difficult campaign for traditional heavyweights Liverpool and Manchester United.

Speaking to OLBG, the former Chelsea and Tottenham defender expressed confidence in Arsenal’s consistency and squad strength, while pointing to struggles at both Anfield and Old Trafford.

“I am sure Arsenal will be there [top four], Manchester City will be there, Chelsea will be there,” Gallas said.
“Now the fourth one, right now Liverpool, they’re struggling. Manchester United as well.
“Maybe Aston Villa because they look very strong, especially after what they did against Arsenal.
“So, yeah, I think I will go for Aston Villa.
Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea and Aston Villa [are my top teams].”

Opinion: A Bold Prediction or a Reflection of the Current Reality?

Gallas’ prediction may raise eyebrows, but it reflects the shifting dynamics of the Premier League. Arsenal’s evolution under Mikel Arteta has been steady and convincing, with the club now showing the maturity needed to go the distance in a title race.

Manchester City’s presence in the top four is almost a given under Pep Guardiola, while Chelsea’s resurgence suggests they are finally finding stability after turbulent seasons. The real talking point, however, is Aston Villa.

Unai Emery’s side have quietly built one of the league’s most disciplined and dangerous teams, and their strong performances against elite opponents have earned them respect. If they maintain consistency, a top-four finish would be deserved rather than surprising.

As for Liverpool and Manchester United, Gallas’ doubts highlight the importance of momentum and structure. Both clubs possess quality, but inconsistency and transitional phases could cost them dearly in such a competitive league.

Whether Gallas’ prediction proves prophetic or premature, one thing is clear: this season’s Premier League race is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable in recent years, and fans are in for a thrilling ride.
