In an interview with SunSport, the Cameroonian starlet revealed that three prominent Premier League players — Declan Rice, Matheus Cunha, and Joelinton — have personally encouraged him, saying they believe he has what it takes to reach those heights.

“Declan Rice, Matheus Cunha, Joelinton, they have all told me I have got it in me [to win the Ballon d’Or],” Baleba said with conviction.

At just 20, Baleba’s dream may sound lofty to some, but he finds motivation in the footsteps of Rodri, the Manchester City and Spain midfield maestro who stunned the world by clinching the 2024 Ballon d’Or, edging out attacking talents like Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham.

“I want to win the Ballon d’Or like Rodri,” Baleba said.
