Anita Joseph Blasts Saida Boj Over Rihanna Comments: “She’s Not Your Mate!”
Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has fired back at social media influencer Saida Boj, who criticized global music icon Rihanna for allegedly sacrificing her career “for love” after news broke that Rihanna is expecting her third child with A$AP Rocky.
Saida Boj had questioned the singer’s priorities, saying she “hopes her man is worth all the sacrifices,” implying Rihanna may be putting her career on the back burner for motherhood and relationship goals.
But Anita Joseph was having none of it.
“Is Rihanna your mate? When she started singing, you were probably still in primary school. Even if she doesn’t drop music for the next ten years, she’s still earning royalties! Let the woman enjoy motherhood,” Anita lashed out in a video post.
✍️ Opinion: Women Should Be Free to Define Success on Their Own Terms
Anita Joseph’s defense is timely — and necessary. In a world where women are constantly scrutinized for their personal choices, especially around motherhood and career, it's vital to recognize that success isn’t one-size-fits-all.
Rihanna is not “losing” her career — she’s expanding her life. She's built a billion-dollar empire, left a lasting legacy in music, and is now embracing family life on her terms. Isn’t that empowerment?
Critiquing a woman for choosing family over hustle (even temporarily) reinforces the idea that women must always do it all — or be judged.
Let’s be clear: Rihanna owes no one an explanation. And no, motherhood is not a step down. It’s a new chapter — and for some, the most meaningful one.
💬 What do you think?
Should public figures like Saida Boj be more careful about commenting on other women's life choices — or is critique part of the game when you're in the spotlight?
