“I Am Not Your Hero”: Mr Macaroni Blasts APC Trolls Over Celebrity-Politician Drama

“I Am Not Your Hero”: Mr Macaroni Blasts APC Trolls Over Celebrity-Politician Drama

Popular Nigerian actor and social activist Mr Macaroni has set the record straight in a fiery post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), addressing what he called the unfair expectations and constant harassment from supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The drama began — once again — after celebrities were seen visiting political leaders, and somehow, Mr Macaroni’s name popped up in the middle of the online chaos. But this time, the skit maker wasn’t having it.

“I have said this times without number! I am nobody’s Hero!! I am not a saint!!! Na all of us get our own for body!”

🔥 "Stop Using Me as Your Moral Compass"

He made it crystal clear that he has never condemned anyone for associating with politicians and urged APC supporters to stop using his stance to criticize others.

“It’s a matter of preference. It is unfair to hold others by these standards.”

Mr Macaroni also noted that he has received numerous invitations from political figures at local, state, and federal levels — but has consistently turned them down, staying true to his personal beliefs.

“Invitations choke on different levels!!! But I promise, you will continue to cry, weep and gnash your teeth because all will be continuously declined,” he declared.

👏 Standing for Principles, Not Popularity

While distancing himself from political affiliations, Mr Macaroni gave praise where it's due — hailing chess hero Tunde Onakoya for inspiring hope through action, not association.

He reminded Nigerians that everyone has a role to play in nation-building, and it's not fair to weaponize one person's choices against others.

“I speak up for what I believe in and not for anyone’s validation… I am not the standard.”

💬 Opinion: We Need More Voices — Not More Villains

Mr Macaroni’s outburst is a timely reminder that not every celebrity owes you a political performance. The pressure placed on public figures to conform to arbitrary standards is not only toxic but distracts from real issues.

In a polarized country like Nigeria, it’s refreshing to see someone stick to personal values without forcing others to follow. Whether you agree with Mr Macaroni or not, his voice adds nuance to the conversation around activism, politics, and public responsibility.

Let’s remember: in a democracy, everyone doesn’t have to shout from the same rooftop — some just choose to build better homes in silence.
