Ruben Amorim Confirms Benjamin Sesko Is Ready for Arsenal Clash

Ruben Amorim Confirms Benjamin Sesko Is Ready for Arsenal Clash

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed that new signing Benjamin Sesko is physically ready to make his Premier League debut in Sunday’s blockbuster opener against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Sesko’s journey to Manchester could have taken a different turn, with the Slovenian striker once linked to Arsenal before the move fell through. Instead, United sealed his signature for around £73 million, adding him to an ambitious new attacking trident alongside fellow summer recruits Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

Although Amorim admits the 22-year-old is still getting up to full match rhythm, he suggested Sesko may start against the Gunners.

“Physically he is ready. That is a big component in our league. He is ready to play. We will see if he is going to start,” Amorim said. “He has great potential in everything he does. He can play different types of football. He’s going to feel that the Premier League is really aggressive.”

Opinion:
The prospect of Sesko making his debut against the very club that almost signed him adds an intriguing layer to Sunday’s clash. Amorim’s confidence in the striker’s physical readiness hints at a baptism of fire in the most high-pressure environment possible.

If Sesko starts and delivers, it won’t just be United fans celebrating—it could also sting for Arsenal supporters who might wonder “what if?” Conversely, if he struggles, critics will be quick to question whether United splashed out too soon.

Either way, this match could mark the beginning of Sesko’s Premier League story—and given his mix of speed, power, and aerial ability, the league might need to take notice sooner rather than later.
