BBNaija: Big Soso Apologises to Dede Over Harsh Words, Says She Doesn’t Expect Friendship

BBNaija: Big Soso Apologises to Dede Over Harsh Words, Says She Doesn’t Expect Friendship

Big Brother Naija housemate Big Soso has publicly apologised to fellow contestant Dede after a heated altercation that saw her use derogatory words against her.

Last Saturday, tensions flared in the house when Soso accused Dede of manipulating some male housemates and, in the heat of the moment, referred to her as a “very dirty thing” and a flirt. The exchange drew attention among housemates and fans, with many criticising Soso for taking things too far.

However, on Sunday afternoon, Soso decided to make peace, walking up to Dede to tender a heartfelt apology.

“Sorry about what I said to you, that was unfair. You don’t deserve that. And I hope you understand that I’m really really sorry,” she said.

Dede, who appeared calm, simply responded: “It’s okay.”

Soso added that while she doesn’t expect the two of them to be cordial again, she felt the need to take responsibility for her actions and make amends.

Opinion:

In a game like Big Brother Naija where emotions run high and personalities clash, it’s easy to cross boundaries in the heat of competition. But what separates strength from weakness is the ability to acknowledge when you’re wrong and take responsibility.

Soso’s apology shows growth. She may not be expecting friendship with Dede, but the act of apologising is a powerful step toward maturity — and it also teaches fans watching that saying “I’m sorry” does not make you smaller, it makes you bigger.

Dede’s calm acceptance of the apology also deserves credit. In a world where people often respond to hurt with more hurt, her simple “It’s okay” is a sign of quiet strength.

At the end of the day, BBNaija is not just about winning ₦100 million, it’s also about showing character. And this moment is a reminder that even in competition, humanity matters.
