Leicester City Reject Valencia’s Late Bid as Wilfred Ndidi Nears Move to Besiktas
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to begin a new chapter in Turkey, with Sky Bet Championship side Leicester City rejecting a late move from Spanish club Valencia in favour of his already-advanced transfer to Besiktas, according to TalkTalk Nigeria.
Transfer insider Ben Jacobs revealed that Valencia made a last-ditch attempt to hijack the deal, but Leicester turned it down, as Besiktas already have a €9.5 million agreement in place with the Foxes.
✅ Deal Almost Done
Agreement: €9.5M between Besiktas and Leicester City
Contract: 3 years + optional 1-year extension
Medical: Ndidi is expected to undergo medicals in Istanbul this week
Personal Terms: Already agreed
Ndidi’s move ends his long-standing stay with Leicester, a club he joined in 2017, becoming one of the most consistent defensive midfielders in the Premier League during his peak.
💭 Opinion – Right Time for a New Challenge?
After Leicester’s relegation and failure to secure an immediate return to the Premier League, Ndidi’s departure feels timely. Besiktas offers not only a fresh challenge but also a platform for European football and a reinvigorated role in a top side.
Valencia’s late interest shows that the 27-year-old is still highly rated across Europe, but Ndidi appears ready for the next step in his journey — and Turkey could be the perfect stage.
