Wilfred Ndidi Delighted to Join Besiktas, Eyes Silverware
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his excitement after arriving in Istanbul to finalize his permanent transfer to Turkish giants Besiktas.
The 28-year-old arrived on Wednesday night and is expected to undergo medicals before the official unveiling on Thursday. Ndidi will sign a three-year deal with an option for an additional year, joining from Leicester City, where he spent over seven seasons.
Speaking to the club’s media, Ndidi said:
“It’s really amazing, this is my second time in Turkey. I feel really great, joining Besiktas is really amazing for me.”
Ndidi, who will now play under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is already looking ahead to a successful season with the Black Eagles.
“I want them [the fans] to enjoy the season. We will see what comes out of the season. I will try my best to help the team win more games because the more games we win, the better our chances of winning a trophy.”
Ndidi’s arrival is seen as a major boost to Besiktas’ midfield as they aim to challenge for the Turkish Super Lig title and other honours this season.
