Saskay Embarks on New Academic Journey in Belgium After Five-Year Wait

Saskay Embarks on New Academic Journey in Belgium After Five-Year Wait

Former Big Brother Naija star Saskay has officially taken a bold step into a new chapter of her life, as she begins her Master’s degree in Global Security and Strategy at the prestigious Brussels School of Governance in Belgium.

The reality TV personality revealed on Instagram that this milestone was a long-awaited dream—one she had pursued and prayed for over the past five years. Despite facing doubts, setbacks, and even moments when she almost gave up, Saskay finally secured both admission and a scholarship to study abroad.

Sharing her journey, Saskay admitted that she nearly settled for a course she wasn’t passionate about, but faith and perseverance carried her through. “I waited five years for this opportunity and even almost gave up last year… but this year was the year,” she wrote, adding that her sisters and close friends played a vital role in supporting her through the challenges, including the demanding visa process.

Quoting Isaiah 60:22, she reflected: “When the time is right, I the Lord, will make it happen.” For Saskay, that time has finally arrived. Though she confessed that returning to academia after years away from the international scene has been overwhelming, she embraces it as part of the ride she has long been waiting for.

Opinion: Saskay’s Journey Is a Lesson in Patience and Purpose

What makes Saskay’s story inspiring isn’t just the scholarship or the prestige of her new school—it’s the patience and resilience she displayed. In a world where quick wins are often celebrated, her five-year wait is a reminder that dreams don’t expire, they simply unfold in their appointed time.

Many young people, especially in Nigeria, face similar struggles—wanting more for themselves but finding the journey delayed by circumstances beyond their control. Saskay’s testimony shows that giving up should never be an option, and that sometimes rejection or delay is simply redirection.

Her courage to return to academic life, even after years away, also sends a powerful message: it’s never too late to chase knowledge or redefine your path. In fact, one could argue that her experiences outside the classroom will only enrich her studies and perspective in global security and strategy.

Saskay’s leap is more than personal—it’s an encouragement to everyone holding on to a dream that seems delayed: the wait may be long, but when destiny finally calls, it’s always worth it.
