Bimbo Ademoye Breathes a Sigh of Relief as Copyright Battle Ends in Her Favour

Bimbo Ademoye Breathes a Sigh of Relief as Copyright Battle Ends in Her Favour

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has expressed deep gratitude and relief after the copyright dispute surrounding her YouTube film Where Love Lives was successfully resolved.

In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, Ademoye thanked her mother, close friends, creative partners, and her ever-supportive online community—fondly called her “cyber family”—for standing by her throughout the ordeal and helping ensure that the infringing content was taken down across streaming platforms.

“God don’t play about me, that’s how I know he’s real,” she wrote.

“I want to say a very big thank you to my mother… for not resting till the issue was resolved… And most importantly! to my amazing cyber family… You guys reported Emmanuel Davies till the song got taken down on all platforms.”

The controversy began when an individual operating under the alias Emmanuel Davies allegedly claimed copyright ownership of a song featured in Where Love Lives, despite Ademoye legally owning the rights with the full consent of the original artist. The song was reportedly uploaded to platforms like Spotify under the false name, triggering a copyright strike on Ademoye’s YouTube film.

The result was a painful setback: demonetisation of the movie and diversion of earnings from a project that had already attracted millions of views since its release in December 2025. The film stars Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro, and had quickly become one of Ademoye’s most successful works.

At the height of the issue, the actress openly shared her distress, describing the experience as emotionally draining and revealing that she was brought to tears by the situation.

“Life and Emmanuel Davies tried me,” she admitted, adding that even simple greetings became overwhelming during the period.

With the false claims now taken down, Ademoye has reiterated her appreciation to everyone who reached out, even those she couldn’t respond to at the time.

Opinion: A Win for Creators—and the Power of Community

Beyond the relief it brings, Bimbo Ademoye’s victory highlights a growing issue in the digital creative space: how easily creators’ work can be exploited. Copyright abuse remains a real threat, especially for independent filmmakers and artists who rely on online platforms for visibility and income.

What makes this story uplifting, however, is the role of community. Ademoye’s “cyber family” didn’t just offer sympathy—they took action. Their collective effort shows how powerful digital solidarity can be when used responsibly.

In an era where creators are often left to fight silent battles, this moment stands as a reminder: support systems matter, authenticity wins, and when creators are protected, creativity thrives. For Bimbo Ademoye, this wasn’t just a legal victory—it was proof that her voice, her work, and her people truly matter.
