Shatta Wale Alleges False Affair Rumour Destroyed Friendship with Burna Boy

Shatta Wale Alleges False Affair Rumour Destroyed Friendship with Burna Boy

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has opened up about the alleged reason behind the breakdown of his relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy, claiming that false rumours spread by former members of his team created a rift between them.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Shatta Wale recalled how he welcomed Burna Boy during one of the Nigerian singer's visits to Ghana, saying he went out of his way to ensure his guest had a comfortable stay.

According to the Ghanaian musician, he provided Burna Boy with accommodation, vehicles, and other support throughout the visit as a gesture of friendship.

However, Shatta Wale alleged that after parting ways with some members of his former team, they deliberately sought to damage his personal and professional relationships by spreading false accusations.

"They told Burna Boy that I was f**king his girl he brought to Ghana. He just bought it," he claimed.

The singer said the alleged rumour eventually strained his friendship with Burna Boy, adding that his attempts to clear the air were unsuccessful.

Shatta Wale revealed that after Burna Boy's career reached new global heights, he repeatedly tried to contact him but received no response. He also claimed he reached out to Burna Boy's mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, in an effort to explain his side of the story.

According to him, his calls and messages went unanswered, leaving him disappointed that he was never given the opportunity to defend himself against the allegations.

Despite the fallout, Shatta Wale said he remains happy about Burna Boy's international success, although he regrets that their friendship deteriorated over what he insists were false claims.

Neither Burna Boy nor Bose Ogulu has publicly responded to Shatta Wale's allegations at the time of this report.

Opinion: Miscommunication Can End Even the Strongest Friendships

Shatta Wale's account highlights how rumours and misinformation can have lasting consequences, particularly when trust begins to erode. In the entertainment industry, where public image and personal relationships often intersect, unverified allegations can quickly damage even close friendships.

It is important to note that these are Shatta Wale's allegations, and they have not been independently verified. Without a response from Burna Boy or his representatives, it is impossible to establish exactly what happened between the two artists.

If the allegations are accurate, the situation underscores the importance of direct communication before drawing conclusions based on third-party claims. At the same time, every individual has the right to decide whom they trust and how they respond to personal matters.

Regardless of the circumstances, both Shatta Wale and Burna Boy have gone on to enjoy successful careers and have played significant roles in promoting African music globally. Fans will likely hope that, if there was indeed a misunderstanding, the two stars may one day have the opportunity to clear the air and move forward.
