‘I’m a Real Nigerian’ – Israel DMW Sparks Debate with Identity Challenge to Citizens

Logistics manager and close associate of music star Davido, Israel DMW, has stirred reactions on social media after making a bold declaration about his Nigerian identity while challenging others to prove theirs.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the Edo-born social media personality described himself as "a real Nigerian," stressing that he was born and educated in Nigeria and has deep family roots that can easily be verified.

According to Israel DMW, he completed his primary, secondary, and university education in Nigeria and can readily identify his former classmates if required.

He further stated that he could personally take anyone to his parents' hometown, introduce them to his relatives, family houses, siblings, friends, and extended family members.

In the post, he wrote:

"I'm Israel by name. A real Nigerian. Edo by birth, and not through adoption. I did both my primary, secondary and university in Nigeria and would at any time show anyone my classmates if they want. I can take anyone to my parents' villages and even show anyone their family houses, siblings, friends and relatives.

"ARE YOU TRULY A NIGERIAN? CAN YOU SHOW US YOUR PARENTS' RELATIVES? Nonsense."

Although Israel did not directly explain what prompted the statement, it quickly generated discussions online, with many users attempting to interpret the message and speculate about its intended target.

The outspoken media aide has frequently commented on political and national issues. In recent months, he warned Nigerians against selling their votes ahead of the 2027 general elections and has also shared strong opinions on electoral matters in Edo State and across the country.

Israel DMW's comments have once again demonstrated how discussions about identity can quickly gain traction on social media.
