Kevin Akpoguma Joins Serie A Side Frosinone on Permanent Deal

Super Eagles defender Kevin Akpoguma has completed a permanent move to Italian Serie A club Frosinone Calcio after signing a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old joined Frosinone as a free agent after leaving German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim at the expiration of his contract in June. His new deal with the Italian club will keep him there until June 30, 2028.

The transfer brings an end to Akpoguma's 13-year association with Hoffenheim, where he established himself as one of the club's most reliable defenders. During his time with Die Kraichgauer, he made 175 league appearances, scored three goals, and also enjoyed loan spells at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96.

The move also marks the first time in his professional career that Akpoguma will play club football outside Germany, opening a fresh chapter in one of Europe's most tactically demanding leagues.

Internationally, Akpoguma represented Germany at youth level before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2020. Since then, he has earned eight caps for the Super Eagles and remains an experienced option in the national team's defensive setup.
