The ADC Wants INEC To Publish A PVC Collection Timetable

The African Democratic Congress has called on INEC to publish a nationwide timetable showing when and where newly registered voters can collect their permanent voter cards, citing delays in the North-West. The statement was signed by national publicity secretary Bolaji Abdullahi.
"You cannot register Nigerians to vote and then make them run from office to office searching for the card that enables them to exercise that right," the party said. "Registration without access to a PVC is disenfranchisement by another route."

Three of the four rows are a publication decision, not a logistics project.
The North-West detail matters
The zone carries some of the country's largest voter populations, and it is also where insecurity has already displaced people from the wards they registered in. A delay in card distribution there removes more voters, faster, than the same delay anywhere else. That is a fact about arithmetic, whatever anyone's motive.
A voter register is a promise. A collection timetable is the only thing that turns it into a vote.
What happens next
INEC has not responded to the specific request. The commission decentralised collection to ward level in previous cycles and it measurably helped, which is the precedent the ADC is pointing at. Publishing the numbers would also do something the commission says it wants, which is to make its own performance checkable before the arguments start.
