BBNaija Finalist Kola Clarifies Relationship with Winner Imisi — “She’s Like a Sister to Me”

BBNaija Finalist Kola Clarifies Relationship with Winner Imisi — “She’s Like a Sister to Me”

Big Brother Naija Season 10 finalist, Kolapo Omotosho, better known as Kola, has cleared the air regarding his relationship with the show’s winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, stating that their bond is purely platonic.

Speaking with journalists after the prize presentation ceremony held at the MultiChoice headquarters in Lagos, Kola explained that he deeply cares about Imisi but in a brother-sister way, dismissing ongoing rumors about a possible romantic connection between them.

“Imisi is just my sister, and someone I care about in a platonic way. I’m happy that someone I care about the most in the house won. Her win is my win,” he said.

The reality star further noted that their friendship was built on mutual respect and emotional support throughout the show.

“Even when we were not in the same team, she always made sure I was okay. She’s my sister and will continue to be my sister,” he added.

Kola, who described himself as someone who “stays true” to himself, admitted that although he initially wanted to win, he found joy and fulfillment in seeing Imisi, whom he described as a genuine friend, clinch the ₦150 million grand prize.

“I always thought I wanted to win, but at the end of the day, I was open to my sister, Imisi. She rooted for me. I’m grateful I have a sister,” he said.

When asked about his rumored connection with another housemate, Dede, Kola declined to comment, saying, “I don’t want to talk about my relationship with Dede.”

Meanwhile, Imisi herself echoed Kola’s words, describing him as “a brother and nothing more.”

“Yes, he’s like a brother to me. Nothing beyond that,” she said.

💭 Opinion: Friendship in a World Obsessed with ‘Ships’

In a social media era where every close bond between a man and a woman is quickly labeled a “ship,” Kola and Imisi’s statement is a refreshing reminder that genuine friendship still exists — even under the public eye.

Their connection in the Big Brother Naija house was one of the few that felt real — built on care, loyalty, and mutual respect, not strategy or clout. It’s beautiful to see that despite fan pressure and online speculation, both are confident enough to define their relationship on their own terms.

Perhaps the lesson here is simple: not every emotional bond must lead to romance. Sometimes, the most powerful relationships are the ones rooted in friendship, empathy, and shared humanity.

In a reality TV world that thrives on drama, Kola and Imisi’s maturity is a gentle but powerful statement — that respectful friendship can still win hearts, even in a house built for chaos. 💫
