Regina Daniels Pledges to Fight for Custody of Her Sons Amid Public Dispute with Ned Nwoko
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has vowed to contest for custody of her two sons, following reports that her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, filed for full custody despite the children already being in his care.
Speaking on Instagram, the actress expressed her frustration over the repeated public exposure of her children, which she described as a deliberate attempt by Nwoko to attract attention. She also alleged that he dismissed her nannies and pressured them into making false claims that she is violent and an alcoholic.
“People may believe that I am happy, but no mother can be at peace while separated from her children. I chose not to allow that pain to define or imprison me,” Daniels wrote. She added that the repeated sharing of her children in the media reflects a troubling pursuit of public engagement over parental responsibility.
Regina further lamented that she last saw her children in mid-November and reaffirmed her commitment to fight for their welfare, saying, “I am young, but I am such a mum, I enjoy being a mum and I miss being a mum. It’s so crazy if their father thinks I won’t come for my children. I will definitely.”
Opinion: Navigating Custody Battles Under Public Scrutiny
Regina Daniels’ situation underscores the unique challenges faced by public figures in private family matters. When disputes play out in the media, children often become involuntary participants, and parental intentions can be misrepresented for attention.
While legal processes will determine custody, Daniels’ statement highlights the importance of prioritizing children’s welfare over public image or political posturing. Custody battles are deeply personal, yet when aired publicly, they can compound emotional strain for both parents and children.
This case serves as a reminder that fame does not shield one from the complexities of family life, and public figures must navigate disputes with care, keeping the best interests of their children at the forefront. For fans and the public, it is a lesson in empathy: private family matters deserve thoughtful consideration rather than social media spectacle.
