#OsimhenGivesBack: Victor Osimhen Rewards Remo Stars With ₦10 Million After Historic NPFL Title Win

In a heartwarming show of generosity and solidarity, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has gifted ₦10 million to newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Remo Stars FC, for their landmark 2024/25 season victory.

The Napoli star, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray, split the donation equally — ₦5 million to the players and ₦5 million to the technical crew — in appreciation of their grit, determination, and historic triumph.

“This is more than a league win. It’s a message to young talents across Nigeria — that hard work, unity, and vision can take you all the way,” Osimhen said while congratulating the team.

Remo Stars Make History in Ikenne

The Sky Blue Stars secured their first-ever NPFL title on Sunday with a tense 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at their Ikenne home ground. Olamilekan Adedayo became the hero of the moment, netting the decisive goal in the 84th minute, sealing Remo Stars' name in history books.

The win not only clinched the championship but also marked them as the first privately owned club to lift the NPFL trophy since Julius Berger FC’s triumph in 2000 — a 25-year wait that now feels more like a breakthrough.

Opinion: A New Era for Nigerian Club Football?

Victor Osimhen’s donation goes beyond money — it’s a symbol of hope and belief in the domestic football structure. As someone who rose from the streets of Lagos to global football stardom, Osimhen recognizes what such a victory means for local clubs, their communities, and aspiring footballers.

This gesture should inspire other elite Nigerian players to look back, reach out, and reinvest in grassroots and local football. With proper support, clubs like Remo Stars could continue to defy expectations — and perhaps become the new face of West African football excellence.
