Lege Miami Accuses Pilot in Kwam 1 Airport Incident of Reckless Endangerment

Lege Miami Accuses Pilot in Kwam 1 Airport Incident of Reckless Endangerment

Popular Yoruba actor and matchmaker, Adams Kehinde — better known as Lege Miami — has come out swinging in defence of Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde, aka Kwam 1, over the recent airport dispute that has generated heated public debate.

Lege Miami claimed that the pilot involved, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi, acted recklessly during the altercation, arguing that their actions could have endangered the singer’s life.

According to him, even if Kwam 1 had been “uncooperative” at the airport, it was implausible for one person to physically stop an aircraft from moving. He questioned why airport security didn’t simply call the police instead of allowing the confrontation to escalate.

He further alleged that proceeding to move the aircraft while the musician was close to it was a life-threatening decision.

“How possible is it for a single man to hold a plane from moving? Instead of getting the police involved, you start the plane and move? That could have killed him,” Lege Miami said passionately.

The actor didn’t mince words about the pilot’s professionalism either, insisting that if Kwam 1 faces penalties over the incident, the pilot should also be held accountable.

Opinion:
Lege Miami’s outburst reflects a bigger question about safety protocols in Nigeria’s aviation sector — how are disputes involving passengers and crew meant to be handled? Whether you agree with his fiery defence of Kwam 1 or not, one thing is clear: moving an aircraft while someone is in close proximity raises serious safety red flags. At the heart of the matter isn’t just celebrity drama — it’s about ensuring that every life, whether that of a superstar or an unknown traveller, is protected by strict adherence to safety rules.

In the court of public opinion, this case is now about more than who was right or wrong — it’s about whether common sense took a back seat at the runway.
