Phyna Replies VDM’s Betrayal Allegation: “I Thought He Was Busy”
The drama between Reality TV star Phyna and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has taken a new turn after accusations of betrayal surfaced.
VDM had earlier claimed that Phyna abandoned him after leveraging his influence to draw attention to her sister’s medical condition. According to him, Phyna’s decision came when the Dangote Group reportedly insisted they did not want his involvement in the matter.
In response, Phyna denied sidelining VDM. She clarified that she had made several attempts to reach him, but he has ignored her calls and messages.
“Which one is betrayal? I have been calling, he hasn’t been picking, he’s not replying my messages. What could I have done? I thought he was busy,” Phyna said.
Opinion: A Case of Miscommunication or Broken Trust?
This back-and-forth highlights the fragile line between allyship and expectations in public struggles. VDM, known for his vocal activism, clearly feels hurt, believing his support was dismissed when it mattered most. On the other hand, Phyna’s explanation suggests this could simply be a case of miscommunication rather than deliberate betrayal.
It also raises a bigger question: should activists expect loyalty beyond the cause, or should gratitude be enough? While VDM’s frustration is understandable, Phyna might also have been caught in a situation where decisions were beyond her control, especially with a corporate giant like Dangote reportedly involved.
At the heart of it, this saga is a reminder that fame, activism, and friendship don’t always mix smoothly. Sometimes, what looks like betrayal may just be poor communication and heightened emotions.
