Saga Honours Late Mother with Heartfelt Tribute and N1 Million Giveaway to Motherless Individuals
Popular Nigerian actor and producer Adeoluwa Okusaga, popularly known as Saga, has touched the hearts of many after announcing a N1 million giveaway in honour of his late mother, who passed away 11 years ago.
In a deeply emotional post shared on his Instagram page, Saga revealed that he plans to gift N100,000 each to 10 individuals who, like him, have lost their mothers. The gesture, he said, is his way of celebrating the woman who shaped his life and creative journey.
"In honour of you, I would like to give a helping hand to 10 motherless children like me," he wrote.
The reality TV star poured out his grief, recalling the pain of navigating life without his beloved mother, affectionately called "Iya Ope." Despite the loneliness, struggles, and unanswered questions, Saga expressed that he has never given up — a strength he attributes to the values his mother instilled in him.
"The light you left in me still burns, Mum. The world keeps trying to kill your flame. Not gonna lie, it flickers sometimes, but somehow it never went out, not once," he wrote, tugging at the hearts of many followers.
Saga, who has now grown into a recognized face in Nollywood as both an actor and a producer, credited his late mother for nurturing the creativity that fuels his career today.
"I wish I could see the look on your face. I’m sure you’re not shocked anyway… I am all I am because of you," he added.
How to Apply
In the same post, Saga invited individuals who have lost their mothers and are in need of financial support to reach out to him:
Send a DM to his Instagram account
Share your story about your mum and why you need the money
Include your account details
Tag others who may need it
He promised that the selected recipients would receive the N100,000 within 48 hours.
Opinion: A Beautiful Blend of Grief and Generosity
Saga’s gesture goes beyond just charity — it’s a testament to the power of love, memory, and compassion. In a time when many public figures shy away from vulnerability, his honesty and willingness to connect with others in shared pain stand out.
By turning his grief into hope for others, Saga has shown that the legacies of loved ones live on — not just in words, but in action.
This is more than a giveaway. It’s a movement of healing, remembrance, and empathy.
