Chris Sutton Predicts Chelsea, Arsenal Wins in Blockbuster Premier League Weekend
Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has shared his predictions ahead of two massive Premier League fixtures this weekend.
Chelsea travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Saturday, while Arsenal host Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday.
Speaking on BBC Sport, Sutton backed Cole Palmer to be the decisive factor for Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
“Chelsea are not the finished article either, but they are playing some good stuff,” Sutton said.
“They have also got Cole Palmer firing again, and he will make the difference. Man United 1-2 Chelsea.”
On Arsenal vs Manchester City, Sutton was even more emphatic, tipping Mikel Arteta’s side to edge past Pep Guardiola’s champions.
“I am very sure about this one – Arsenal to win.
They will rough City up and I can see Erling Haaland being bullied out of it – I am not going to make him captain of my Fantasy team this week. Arsenal 1-0 Man City.”
Opinion: Bold Predictions That Reflect Current Realities
Sutton’s predictions may sound bold, but they’re not far-fetched. Chelsea under Maresca are beginning to show real attacking intent, and with Palmer emerging as their go-to man, it feels like the Blues are no longer afraid of big occasions. Manchester United, on the other hand, remain inconsistent, often struggling to impose themselves against top-half opposition.
As for Arsenal, Sutton’s confidence reflects a growing belief that the Gunners are now genuine equals to City. The Emirates has become a fortress, and if Arsenal can unsettle Haaland and disrupt City’s rhythm, they stand a real chance of grabbing a statement victory.
For fans, this weekend feels like one of those pivotal moments in the season—games that not only deliver points but also shape narratives. Chelsea’s resilience and Arsenal’s hunger could very well redefine the title race and the top-four chase in one breathtaking weekend.
