Wolves Reject Besiktas’ €15m Bid for Tolu Arokodare

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly turned down a €15 million offer from Turkish giants Besiktas for Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare, TalkTalk Nigeria reports.

According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, Wolves are holding out for a fee in the region of €25 million to €30 million, a valuation that reflects both their investment and belief in the forward’s long-term potential.

Besiktas are currently in the market for a new striker following the departure of Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa earlier this week and had identified Arokodare as a possible replacement. However, Wolves’ firm stance has stalled any immediate progress on the deal.

Arokodare only joined the Premier League side last summer from Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk, with Wolves paying around €26 million for the Nigeria international. Since arriving at Molineux, the 25-year-old has recorded four goals and one assist in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Opinion: Wolves Playing the Long Game with Arokodare

Wolves’ decision to reject Besiktas’ offer makes perfect business sense. Having spent heavily to bring Arokodare in just months ago, accepting a €15m bid would represent a significant loss on their investment. More importantly, the striker is still adapting to the demands of English football, and his numbers suggest there is more to come.

For Besiktas, the interest highlights Arokodare’s growing reputation in Europe, even without eye-catching statistics. For Wolves, though, this is about patience and projection. If the Nigerian forward finds consistency and confidence in front of goal, his market value could rise well beyond their current asking price.

In the end, Wolves appear determined not to be rushed into a cut-price sale, while Arokodare’s future remains one to watch as the transfer window edges closer to its conclusion.
