The entertainment industry, religious community, and prominent public figures came together on Wednesday to honor the memory of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo during a moving Service of Songs held at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.

The solemn event drew an impressive gathering of celebrities, gospel ministers, clergy, and dignitaries who assembled to celebrate the life and legacy of the beloved actor, whose death on May 11, 2026, shocked fans and colleagues across Nigeria.

Alex Ekubo passed away at a Lagos hospital after a prolonged battle with advanced kidney cancer, bringing an end to a career that earned him admiration both within and outside Nollywood.

Among the notable dignitaries present at the service was former Nigerian Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, whose attendance reflected the broad impact the late actor had beyond the entertainment industry.
