Bloody Civilian Says Music Has Changed Her Views, Reveals She Is Not Considering Marriage

Bloody Civilian Says Music Has Changed Her Views, Reveals She Is Not Considering Marriage

Nigerian singer Emoseh Khamofu, popularly known as Bloody Civilian, has revealed that her journey as an artiste has changed the way she views life, family expectations and some traditional values she grew up with.

The Taraba-born singer made the revelation during a recent episode of the Not Just On podcast, where she explained that her career has exposed her to different perspectives and influenced her personal choices.

Bloody Civilian said some conventional expectations placed on women within her background no longer appeal to her, especially when it comes to marriage.

The 26-year-old singer explained that while her family continues to ask questions about settling down, they do not fully understand that marriage is not something she is currently interested in.

“One thing my family still does not understand about being an artiste is the fact that certain conventional things that they expect of a woman from the North are just simply not things that I am excited to do,” she said.

“For instance, marriage is not something that I am thinking of at all. But that question keeps being brought up.”

Her comments have generated conversations about changing attitudes toward marriage, career choices and the pressure many young people face from family and society.

While some Nigerians believe traditional expectations remain important, others argue that personal decisions around relationships and life paths should be respected.

Bloody Civilian’s statement adds to a growing conversation among young Nigerian creatives who are challenging old ideas about success, identity and the choices individuals make for their own lives.
