Haiti and Turkey Become First Nations Eliminated From 2026 FIFA World Cup

2026 FIFA World Cup has recorded its first exits, with Haiti national football team and Turkey national football team becoming the first countries to be eliminated from the competition.

Haiti were the first nation to be mathematically knocked out after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Brazil national football team in Philadelphia.

The result left Haiti without a point after two matches in Group C, ending their hopes of reaching the Round of 32 stage. Their tournament began with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Scotland national football team before they fell to Brazil.

Despite showing determination, Haiti struggled against Brazil’s attacking quality and became the first team to officially lose their chance of progressing.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s World Cup journey also came to an early end after a 1-0 defeat to Paraguay national football team.

The defeat left Turkey unable to qualify from the group stage after losing their opening two matches against Australia national football team and Paraguay.

Turkey will still play their final group fixture against the United States men's national soccer team, but the result will only determine final standings rather than qualification.

While Haiti and Turkey exit early, the remaining teams continue to battle for places in the knockout rounds, with the final group matches set to decide which nations move forward.
