Muhammad Tijani Joins Újpest FC Permanently After Impressive Hungarian Loan Spell
Former Nigeria national under-20 football team striker Muhammad Tijani has completed a permanent move to Hungarian club Újpest FC, bringing an end to his three-year association with SK Slavia Prague.
The 25-year-old forward earned the move after an impressive loan spell with Hungarian side Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC during the second half of last season.
Tijani was one of the standout performers for Nyíregyháza, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 15 league appearances, a run that helped rebuild his confidence and attract interest from other clubs.
Before leaving Slavia Prague, the Nigerian striker scored seven goals in 33 appearances across all competitions for the Czech club. During his time with Slavia, he also gained experience through loan spells at English League One side Plymouth Argyle FC and Czech top-flight team SK Sigma Olomouc.
Tijani previously represented Nigeria at youth level and was part of the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup squad with the Flying Eagles.
The move to Újpest represents a fresh opportunity for the striker to establish himself as a key attacking figure and continue the momentum from his strong finish to last season.
