Real Madrid Trigger Nico Paz Buy-Back Clause as Como Face €60m Decision

Real Madrid have officially activated their buy-back option for midfielder Nico Paz after an impressive loan spell at Serie A club Como.

The Argentine-born midfielder spent last season on loan in Italy, where his performances attracted attention and increased his market value. Madrid have now exercised the €9 million clause to bring him back under their control.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Como still have the opportunity to sign Paz permanently, but they would now have to pay a significantly higher fee of up to €60 million.

Romano revealed on X: “Real Madrid officially inform Como they activate €9m buy back clause for Nico Paz.

“Nico returns and the club gives Como the chance to buy him for €60m from now to Monday.

“Otherwise, next week Nico will be back to Real Madrid — and on the market again for more than €60m.”

Paz’s situation highlights Real Madrid’s strategy of protecting their young talents while keeping their options open. The club could either integrate the midfielder into their first-team plans or sell him for a major profit.
