Nollywood Stars Rally Behind Blogger After Claims of Alleged Plot Against Alex Ekubo’s Family
Several Nollywood celebrities have reacted to a statement by blogger Cutie Julls concerning alleged attempts to publish claims against the family of late actor Alex Ekubo.
In a lengthy post shared on Instagram, the blogger alleged that individuals connected to Alex Ekubo’s family approached the platform with requests to publish serious accusations involving people close to the late actor, including his wife and family.
The blog claimed that after reviewing the information provided, it decided not to publish the allegations because it was not convinced the claims could be verified as facts.
Cutie Julls explained that the decision was made to avoid becoming involved in anything that could deepen divisions within a grieving family or unfairly harm people’s reputations.
The statement attracted reactions from several Nollywood personalities, who praised the blogger’s decision.
Ini Edo reacted with supportive emojis, while Bimbo Ademoye wrote, “My mamabear y’all.”
Blessing Obasi also commented, “Bless your heart,” while Mercy Atang praised the blogger for taking time to investigate before publishing sensitive claims.
The conversation comes after the death of Alex Ekubo, whose family announced that the actor passed away following complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer. He was laid to rest on June 18, with many of his colleagues attending the emotional ceremony.
Opinion: The reaction from Alex Ekubo’s colleagues highlights the importance of responsibility when discussing sensitive issues involving grieving families. In an era where information spreads quickly online, verifying claims before publication can help prevent unnecessary harm and protect people from unconfirmed allegations.
