Tolu Arokodare Urged to Consider Wolves Exit After Raul Jimenez Arrival

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has been advised to consider finding a new club following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ decision to sign Mexican forward Raul Jimenez.

Football analyst Chris Gallagher believes the arrival of Jimenez could reduce Arokodare’s chances of regular playing time at Wolves and may signal the end of the Nigerian striker’s stay at the club.

Arokodare joined Wolves after an impressive spell in Belgium, where he scored 23 goals and provided seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

However, the 25-year-old struggled to reproduce that form in the Premier League as Wolves endured a difficult campaign that ended with relegation to the Championship.

Writing for Football League World, Gallagher suggested that Arokodare’s struggles may have been influenced by Wolves’ inability to use his strengths effectively and believes the striker could rediscover his confidence in the Championship.

“It could be argued that Wolves didn’t play to Arokodare’s strengths, and, in the Championship he could be more effective,” Gallagher said.

“But, with Raul Jimenez joining, the Mexican is certain to be the main number nine. Plus, Sasa Kalajdzic is back at the club, and Peixoto may want to bring in his own players.”

Opinion: Arokodare’s situation shows how quickly competition for places can change in football. While staying at Wolves could give him another chance to prove himself, moving to a club where he is guaranteed regular minutes may be the better option for a young striker looking to rebuild confidence and maintain his place in the Super Eagles setup.
