Davido Celebrates Tinubu–Adeleke Conversation, Says He Witnessed ‘History’ Firsthand
Afrobeats superstar Davido has reacted to the recent conversation between his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and President Bola Tinubu, describing the moment as historic.
The singer revealed that he was present when the development unfolded, stating that he personally witnessed the conversation between the two leaders.
“I was there live! I witnessed history!!” Davido wrote while reacting to the engagement between the President and the Osun governor.
The conversation followed President Tinubu’s directive to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to take steps toward vacating a court order that had frozen Osun State Government accounts. The directive was reportedly aimed at resolving concerns surrounding the timing of the legal action ahead of the state’s governorship election.
Davido’s reaction further highlights his close relationship with his uncle, whom he has openly supported over the years. The singer was heavily involved during Adeleke’s governorship campaign and celebrated his victory publicly after the election.
Beyond family ties, Davido has also remained vocal on political matters, particularly issues concerning elections and governance. He has previously called for credible elections and used his platform to advocate for fairness during political contests.
Opinion
Davido’s involvement in political conversations continues to show the growing influence Nigerian entertainers have beyond music. While celebrities speaking on governance often attracts debate, their large platforms can bring public attention to important issues. However, the responsibility that comes with such influence is significant, as public figures must balance personal loyalty with the broader expectations of fairness and accountability from their audiences.
