Okara Backs Bayelsa United to Bounce Back Despite Recent Struggles
Bayelsa United technical adviser Meremu Okara has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to turn their season around, insisting that the Prosperity Boys will continue to fight in pursuit of their objectives.
The Yenagoa-based club has endured a challenging run of form, managing just one win from their last five league matches. Their most recent outing ended in a 2–0 defeat to Kwara United, a result that left them sitting 13th on the league table with 23 points.
Despite the setback, Okara remains optimistic, pointing out that the league standings remain tight and that a short winning run could significantly improve their position.
“The league is very open, our position on the log isn’t that bad,” Okara told Bayelsa United’s media. “If we win two or three matches, we move up. The league is still open but we will keep fighting and hope for the best.”
Opinion: Belief as Bayelsa United’s Biggest Asset
Okara’s comments reflect a belief that may prove crucial at this stage of the season. In a league where the margins between mid-table and contention are often slim, momentum can change quickly with just a few positive results.
While Bayelsa United’s recent performances have raised concerns, their current position suggests the season is far from lost. What the team needs now is consistency, sharper execution, and confidence—especially in key moments during matches.
If Okara can translate his optimism into renewed focus on the pitch, the Prosperity Boys still have every chance to finish the season respectably. For the fans, the message is clear: the fight is not over, and belief remains very much alive.
