The asymmetry. Nigerian actresses are asked about motherhood, work and balance constantly. Male actors are asked about projects, feuds and money. The same audience holds both groups to that pattern.

Why it lands from him specifically

Ninalowo's marriage, separation and later reconciliation played out publicly over years, with a level of commentary that few families could absorb. A man who has been through that saying his children are the fixed point is speaking from the other side of something, not offering an abstraction.

Nigerian public life is comfortable discussing whether a marriage survived. It rarely asks what the children made of the coverage.
