Olusegun Obasanjo, appearing on Isbae U's podcast, said he did not know Don Jazzy, Poco Lee or Carter Efe, and offered that maybe they were not important. He went on to mention royals he does know. The clip has travelled all weekend.
Two things are being enjoyed here at once
The first is a former head of state, twice, at 89, sitting for a Nigerian comedy podcast at all. The second is him declining to pretend. Nigerian public figures asked about young celebrities almost always perform familiarity, and he did the opposite in front of the exact audience that would notice.

The part that is genuinely funny
Pairing "maybe they are not important" with a list of traditional rulers is a very precise piece of comic timing, whether or not it was meant as one. Obasanjo has been many things in Nigerian public life and has never once been accused of softening a sentence for an audience.
