Mourinho Reportedly Wants Real Madrid to Consider Midfield Changes, Targets Enzo Fernandez

Mourinho Reportedly Wants Real Madrid to Consider Midfield Changes, Targets Enzo Fernandez

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly advised the club to listen to offers for midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as he looks to reshape the team’s midfield options, according to The Athletic.

The Portuguese coach is said to believe that a midfield departure is necessary to create space for the type of creative player he wants to add to the squad.

However, sources close to Camavinga reportedly believe the 23-year-old’s exit from the Santiago Bernabeu would be “impossible” due to his importance and future value to the club.

Another midfielder whose future is uncertain is Aurelien Tchouameni. The France international could reportedly attract interest from clubs including Manchester United, with Real Madrid said to be open to considering offers.

Tchouameni’s situation has reportedly been affected by competition for places and tension following a dressing room disagreement with Federico Valverde.

Mourinho’s preferred midfield addition is believed to be Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, who could cost around £120 million. The Argentine midfielder is reportedly open to a new challenge and would favour a move to Madrid.

Opinion: Real Madrid’s midfield has been one of the strongest areas of the team for years, but football’s biggest clubs are constantly forced to evolve. Replacing established players is always a risk, especially when dealing with talents like Camavinga and Tchouameni who still have many years ahead of them.

If Madrid decide to make major midfield changes, the key will be balancing immediate creativity with long-term stability. A player like Enzo Fernandez could add a different dimension, but moving on from young midfield stars could prove costly if they reach their full potential elsewhere.
